Nenagh 800 will be extended and events now being postponed will be rescheduled in the future when it is appropriate to do so. #WeAreNenagh
Events not going at this point in time include talk by Dr Paul O’ Brien in Nenagh Library on 24th March on ‘Remnants of Retail: The nineteenth century shop fronts of Nenagh’ and the Re-Enactment of the Trial of the Cormack Brothers on 9th April. Check website of Nenagh Arts Centre for details of events cancelled there.
2020 is an exciting year for Nenagh, with a broad calendar of events taking place throughout the year.
Central to Nenagh 800 is the iconic Nenagh Castle – the landmark keep which is synonymous with Nenagh. During 2020, if you have never climbed the 101 steps to the top why not put it on your list of things to do and enjoy the panoramic views of the town, its hinterland and stretch all the way to the majestic Shannon and Lough Derg. Learn about its history and the links with the Butler and O’ Kennedy clans. And visit the newly opened Castle Garden which is adjacent to the Castle and provides a place to reflect, meditate or just chill out.
